I like to use Fuji or Granny Smith because they hold up to baking well. Fujis are sweeter than Granny Smith, so choose according to taste and sweeten according to you own preference.pastry studiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18236016716310805888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4897079154160126133.post-3451799503002522752012-01-30T19:48:44.824-08:002012-01-30T19:48:44.824-08:00What kind of apples? Add about 1/4 - 1/3 cup of sugar, depending on how sweet your apples are. Add a tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and some cinnamon if you'd like. Cover and simmer for about 8 - 10 minutes or until tender. Sprinkle with about a tablespoon of flour and toss thoroughly. Distribute all the apples in the bottom of ramekins or in the bottom of an 8" square baking dish. Top with the cake batter and bake for about 20 – 24 minutes or until a tester comes out clean.pastry studiohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18236016716310805888noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4897079154160126133.post-85138514605062852952012-01-27T19:58:31.915-08:002012-01-27T19:58:31.915-08:00How would you suggest doing this with apples? How would you suggest doing this with apples?Brian Cooperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06616582143933406814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4897079154160126133.post-85725125654477394302012-01-13T22:42:42.128-08:002012-01-13T22:42:42.128-08:00hellllo long-weekend baking.
